As Vice Chair, BES Wide, I’m excited to share my journey and our recent accomplishments with you. When I joined the Senior Leadership Team, my goal was to make a difference and bring fresh ideas to a diverse age demographic. This role has allowed me to contribute significantly to our community’s growth and vibrancy.
Since taking on this position, I’ve had the pleasure of supporting the shul office and caretaking team, arranging the baby blessings, and organizing various BES Wide events. Notably, we’ve brought back the Yom Haatzmaut celebrations and successfully hosted our Communal Seder, bringing together members of all ages to celebrate these important occasions as one extended family. These events exemplify our commitment to creating meaningful, inclusive experiences that strengthen our community ties.
One of my proudest achievements has been introducing the “Quiet Nesters” initiative, focusing on singles and couples whose children have left home. This program has created a space for connection and shared experiences among community members in similar life stages. Another exciting addition to our community calendar has been the “Games Afternoon,” where members can challenge themselves and others with board games, card games, and brain teasers. This event not only sharpens minds but also fosters new friendships and strengthens existing bonds within our community.
Looking ahead, I’m eager to expand our “Quiet Nesters” events and continue bringing innovative ideas to BES Wide. Our community thrives on the participation and enthusiasm of its members, and I’m always looking for more ideas and volunteers to support our initiatives.
I invite you to reach out to me with your thoughts, and suggestions, or if you’d like to be part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen and enrich our community.
Thank you for your continued support and participation.
Shabbat Shalom,
Lisbeth Gilmore
Vice Chair, BES Wide
