In 2022, BES invested a significant amount of time into its groundbreaking Reimagining Shul project to work out how best to increase the elements of belonging and inspiration that we’ve found to be the key aspects of the Jewish community that our members are looking for.

The results, described in the Reimagining Shul Report is a set of principles and practices that all revolve around one central idea: it’s all about relationships.

We are changing the way that we do shul and community to create a relational rather than transactional Judaism. It’s not so much about what we do, which events and services we put on, but how we do them. How do we ensure that every BES experience offers participants a deeper connection to each other, with the community and with Judaism itself?
