Whilst many in our community are fortunate enough to be holidaying abroad or spending time with loved ones, I’m reminded that although breaks help recharge us from our busy personal & professional lives, there’s also nothing quite like returning to our Kehillah’s welcoming embrace.

At Yavneh, I’ve worked hard over the past year with the Gabbai team and Dan Miller, our vice chair, to strengthen the three pillars of our services:

  1. Ruach – We’re known for the atmosphere and love we imbue in all our services – my dream is for people to hear the singing before even entering the building.
  2. Friendly welcome to all by all – At Yavneh, everyone, not just welcomers, greets guests warmly – it’s the Yavneh way!
  3. Decorum – We pride ourselves on maintaining exceptional decorum throughout services.

I’m extremely proud we’ve shown flexibility in offering bespoke Bar Mitzvah services, as part of our commitment to inclusivity. I’m also extremely proud of our ongoing mental health initiatives, with various discussions and panels over the year. It’s vital everyone knows their community is here for them, offering discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.

I’d like to thank my Gabbai team (Josh May, Jason Palman, Saul Muzlish and Joel Pottesman) and Dan Miller for their invaluable support. It’s a pleasure working with great friends to better our community. I encourage anyone interested in helping build and grow our community to speak with me or Dan.

Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful Shabbat, wherever you may be.

Shabbat Shalom
